It is often confused that the surface of quartz stone is the same as that of engineering quartz. They are not! About 10% of the material volume in the quartz mesa is not real quartz stone. While Granite is a 6 on Mohs Scale, in contrast to diamond which is a 10, Quartz is a 7. This is because while granite has 60% of quartz content in it at most, quartz engineered stone has 90% of it and marble contains no content of quartz.
