Ice flower orchid was discovered in Miyi County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province in 1997. This is another gray-blue granite found in the world after the Norwegian Blue Diamond. It is also the only blue granite found in China so far.
After the ice flower orchid made its first appearance in the "Carrara World Stone Fair in Italy" in 2000, it has achieved a huge response and has attracted great attention from the world's stone industry and the decorative material industry. For more than 10 years, ice flower orchid has been recognized by the market and welcomed by users for its good physical and chemical properties and unique decoration.
Ice flower orchid is named after its structure resembles ice flower and its color is dark blue. Its compact structure, high strength, high density, extremely low water absorption rate, hard and wear-resistant texture, the granite sheet product after grinding and polishing is noble and rich, elegant and luxurious, both flower type and color are unique. The ice flower orchid mine covers an area of 1.3084 square kilometers with an annual output of 30,000 cubic meters. It mainly produces ice flower orchid, snow blue, yellow ice flower and other decorative granite. The mine reserves are huge. In January 2014, the ice flower orchid mine resource reserve verification report in Miyi County estimated that the ice flower orchid mine area has a granite resource reserve of 6.13 million cubic meters, which will be sustainable for 200 years.
The physical properties of ice flower blue are superior, and all indicators are in line with national standards. The physical properties of the ore are acid and alkali resistance. The main physical parameters are tested as follows: compressive strength 150.31-186.27Mpa; flexural strength 22.6-29.13Mpa; water absorption rate 0.114 -0.045; bulk density 2.63-3.03G/cm3; Mohs hardness 5.22-5.8; radioactivity 10-20r (national standard is <60r); vacuum density 2.69-2.73G/cm3.
