Identification Method of Green Onyx

The composition of Green Onyx Marble is mainly silicate

①Observation of gloss: Genuine onyx stones have a warm sheen, whether they are transparent or opaque. Interior impurities or cotton-like patterns are common, and false jade objects typically feature bubbles in addition to dry, dull colors.
②Measurement of hardness: Real onyx is undetectable after carving and scraping with a knife.
③In comparison to imitation onyx, real onyx feels heavier to the touch.

④Take note of the sound: Hit the onyx with a hard item after hanging it up with a thread. The genuine product has a crisp, sweet flavor and a melodic aftertaste; the imitation is comparatively bland and dry.
⑤ Examine the fracture: Use a 10x magnification to observe. While the fake onyx’s fractures are nicely illuminated, frequently glass imitations, the fracture structure is rough, and the waxy shine is an imitation of stone, the real onyxe’s fractures are irregular and reveal a reasonably deep structure.
