Colorful agate stone is a translucent variety of microcrystalline quartz. Colorful Agate is used as a semiprecious stone when it is of desirable quality and color.

Colored agate stone is usually formed by the deposition of silica in underground water in igneous rock caves. The colorful agate is deposited in the concentric layer around the cavity wall or in the horizontal layer stacked from the bottom of the cavity. These structures produce many ribbon patterns unique to agates. Some of these cavities are lined with crystals and are called geodesic. Colored Agate Stone is widely used in the table top, desktop and fireplace of luxury villas and hotels.
